Ha! (2013)

Scenic Design – Adams State University Theatre

Full Production Description:

This comedic anthology of short scenes and vignettes demanded a highly flexible set that could transition between radically different comedic worlds. The final design used movable cubes, projection zones, and multipurpose surfaces to support rapid tonal shifts and actor blocking.

  • - Built lightweight scenic cubes with interchangeable vinyl covers

    - Integrated projection screen and shadow curtain for transitional comedy

    - Developed spike tape floor plan for clear actor movement

    - Constructed rolling benches with hidden compartments

  • - Learned to design for modularity and actor adaptability

    - Prioritized simplicity and bold contrast for visual punchlines

    - Trained run crew to pivot between scenes without blackouts
