The Vocal Arts Festival is an intensive training and performance program designed to support emerging vocal artists through professional instruction, rehearsal processes, and public performance opportunities. Developed in collaboration with Opera Theatre of the Rockies, the festival provides participants with direct access to working artists, educators, and performance environments.

The program is rooted in the belief that vocal training should integrate:

  • technical development

  • performance practice

  • collaborative artistry

while remaining accessible to a diverse range of students and emerging performers.

Program Structure & Experience

The festival combines instruction, rehearsal, and performance into a cohesive learning experience. Participants engage in:

  • Vocal Coaching & Instruction
Training in technique, interpretation, and stylistic performance

  • Rehearsal & Production Process
Collaborative work with directors, musicians, and fellow performers

  • Performance Opportunities
Public showcases that allow participants to apply their training in a live setting

  • Professional Exposure
Interaction with working artists and organizations within the regional arts community

This structure mirrors professional rehearsal and production environments, preparing participants for continued work in performance and arts settings.

Outcomes and Impact

The Vocal Arts Festival supports:

  • Development of vocal technique and performance confidence

  • Increased access to professional-level instruction

  • Opportunities for emerging artists to engage in public performance

  • Strengthened connections between students and regional arts organizations

The program serves as both a training ground and a pipeline into continued artistic engagement, supporting participants as they transition into higher-level study or professional work.

Connection to Arts Coordination

Through my work with Opera Theatre of the Rockies and related programming, this festival aligns with my broader focus on:

  • building accessible arts education opportunities

  • supporting student growth through performance-based learning
